PROJECT OVERVIEW

 

The intention of the Crawford Grill Redevelopment Project is to provide financial resources to renovate, expand and equip the current building located at 2141 Wylie Avenue. The renovation plan has been developed with Pfaffmann + Associates and efforts will be made to renovate the building to LEED platinum standards. A portion of the property may also be used for community green space and outdoor performances. It is forecast that the construction period will be approximately two years from time of secured funding to renovation completion.

 

Key elements of the original interior of the Crawford Grill Jazz Club will be preserved; and the stage, bar, and much of the structure maintained. The club expansion may include a replication of the adjacent façade of the house next to the club that was torn down in the 1980’s. This will allow the extension of the performance area and second floor, resulting in additional functionality of the facility. The first floor addition could make it possible to accommodate small events to occur in the original bar area as well as larger (up to approximately 200 people) in the new dining and performance section.
